Bill Dow has worn many hats in his lifetime — short-order cook, dishwasher, floor installer, carpenter and ski instructor. That all changed when he saw his first sand sculpture and decided that is what he wanted to do. In 1991, he joined a team that won the world sand sculpting championship. He’s been competing and winning since then.
Bill has built massive sculptures at shopping mall openings, beerfests and state fairs. His work has taken him around the world and half of the USA. He loves everything about sand sculpting, especially the appreciation and reaction from the public when they see his sculptures.
