Texas SandFest Announces Service Animals Only Policy
PORT ARANSAS, TX – February 2, 2026 – Texas SandFest is adopting a Service Animals Only policy.
“Our goal is to keep Texas SandFest a fun and enjoyable destination for every guest and their families,” said Tim Parke, President. “We know how much guests cherish bringing their pets, and this decision wasn’t made lightly. Texas SandFest is fully committed to ADA accessibility. We’re deeply grateful to our pet-loving community for understanding and supporting this step.”
Under the ADA, only dogs (any breed) or miniature horses that perform disability-related tasks qualify as Service Animals. Emotional support animals, therapy animals, comfort animals, pets, and all other animals do not qualify and will not be permitted.
Handlers must keep Service Animals under control, ensure they are housebroken and well-behaved, and handle all care/cleanup. For official ADA guidance ADA.gov

Texas SandFest Exhibit at the Bullock Museum
The Texas SandFest exhibit will be part of a larger exhibit on Texas Festivals. The exhibit will showcase the history of Texas SandFest, our Mission, highlight some techniques and special qualities about the Port Aransas beach sand that makes it ideal for sand sculptures. Thanks to our local sculptures we'll be able to have a real sand sculpture on display as well!
